Abdulwaheed Umar, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, has just announced to protesters in Abuja that the police has so far killed nine protesters.
He said six protesters were killed in Maiduguri, Borno State, and three in Lagos.
We are yet unable to independently verify the claims. Calls to spokesperson of the Nigerian Police have so far failed to connect.
Reports reaching us from across the country however suggests the police is using excessive force to quell protests and crackdown on protesters.
