Manchester United now top the table with 46 points.
Manchester United extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points after they defeated Newcastle United 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford.
Newcastle led at half time 2-1 before Manchester came back strongly in the second half to defeat their visitors.
The win puts United on 46 points, seven more than their city rivals, Manchester City who lost 0-1 away to Sunderland.
In other games, Chelsea won away 1-0 at Norwich, thanks to a Juan Mata first half goal, while Everton beat Wigan at home 2-1.
Fulham and Southampton played 1-1, while Reading and Swansea played 0-0. QPR returned to the bottom of the table after a 1-2 loss at home to West Bromwich Albion.
The game between Arsenal and West Ham United was postponed.
