With Christmas less than three months away, Nigerian fragrance retailer Seinde Signature has unveiled the 2026 edition of what it introduced in 2025 as Nigeria’s first perfume advent calendar.
An advent calendar is traditionally used to count down the days to Christmas. The custom originated among German Christians, with conventional calendars containing 24 numbered compartments, one to be opened daily from 1 December until Christmas Eve. It is a tradition in the West.

The company said it pioneered the concept in Nigeria’s fragrance market and remains the first Nigerian retailer to develop an advent calendar devoted exclusively to niche perfumes.
The latest calendar targets perfume collectors, niche fragrance enthusiasts, and customers seeking high-end gifts during the Christmas season.

Niche perfumes are typically created by specialist fragrance houses and produced on a smaller scale than mass-market designer scents. They are often sought by fragrance enthusiasts interested in distinctive or less commonly worn scents.
Advent calendar tradition
Older versions of Advent Calendar contained pictures, Bible verses or chocolates. In recent years, beauty and luxury brands have adapted the tradition by filling the compartments with cosmetics, fragrances and other products.
Seinde Signature’s version departs from the traditional 24-compartment format. It contains 12 individually wrapped fragrances, which the company says represent the 12 days of Christmas and are intended to be opened one at a time.

The retailer said the 2026 calendar builds on its inaugural edition, which was released in 2025.
“We made our first calendar last year. This is the one we have been building towards since a single case holding 12 fragrances from the houses we love most,” the company’s general manager, Ore-Oluwa Olusola, said.
“Twelve genuine introductions, arranged to be opened one at a time.”
Twelve perfume houses
The calendar contains fragrances from 12 international niche perfume houses: Masque Milano, Agatho, Electimuss, Sarah Baker, Christian Provenzano, Fugazzi, Régalien, Pana Dora, 100BON, Jeroboam, Alghabra and Botanicae.
Seinde Signature said some of the fragrances were secured through its partnerships with the perfume houses. According to the retailer, the collection includes products that are not widely available in Nigeria, as well as offerings exclusive to its stores.
The calendar is available in Bronze, Silver, and Gold editions, with the contents varying by category. Each fragrance is packaged separately inside the box.
Pricing
Prices for the 2026 Advent calendar start at ₦1.2 million, placing the collection at the premium end of Nigeria’s festive-gifting market.
The retailer said that, depending on the edition, the fragrances have a combined retail value of between ₦3 million and ₦4.5 million.
It described the reduced price as a giveback to customers and members of its fragrance community who have supported the brand.
