Low voter turnout has been reported in some polling units across Osun State in the ongoing Saturday governorship election.
This was based on reports from the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID)’s Situation Room.

At 11:37 a.m., only security agents, Accord Party and APC agents, and INEC ad hoc staff were seen at Polling Unit 028, Open Space Motion Ground, OAU, in Iremo/Ajebandele Registration Area, Ife Central Local Government Area.
Similarly, at 11:44 a.m., less than 200 voters were in the queue at Polling Unit 001, UMC Primary School, Ijeda, in Ijeda/Iloko Registration Area, Oriade Local Government Area, while the polling unit had 659 registered voters.

Also, at 11:50 a.m., only two voters were seen at Polling Unit 009, Biladu Registration Area, Ilesa West Local Government Area. Poll staff said the polling unit has 173 registered voters, with 96 already accredited.
At 11:53 a.m., no voter was present at Polling Unit 007, Primary Health Centre, Ileogbo 1 Registration Area, Aiyedire Local Government Area.

Only presiding officers and security officials were still at the polling unit at the time of this report.
The Osun governorship election is being held across the state’s 30 local government areas, with voters choosing a governor for a four-year term.
The election is being closely watched as 15 candidates compete for the governorship.
