The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won its campaign director-general Oluwole Oke’s polling unit in Saturday’s Osun State governornorship election.
Mr Oke cast his ballot earlier on Saturday at Polling Unit (PU) 018, in front of the College of Technology, Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area, where the APC’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 336 votes to defeat the Accord Party’s Ademola Adeleke, who secured 45 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) polled one vote.
A total of 384 valid votes were recorded at the polling unit.

Mr Oke, the director-general of the Osun State 2026 Governorship Campaign Committee, is a five-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency and a prominent figure in the APC’s campaign for the election.

On 4 August, Mr Oke accused Mr Adeleke of making what he described as “reckless, inflammatory and seditious” remarks.
The lawmaker criticised Mr Adeleke’s call for President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the escalating political violence and alleged intimidation prior to the Saturday’s election.

Mr Oke also rejected the governor’s allegation that the federal government was withholding allocations meant for Osun State’s 30 local government areas.
By virtue of his position as the APC campaign DG, Mr Oke has led the campaign for ithe party’s candidate, Mr Oyebamiji, against Governor Adeleke of the Accord Party and 13 other contenders, including ADC candidate Najeem Salaam.
