The Police Command in Delta State has intensified its manhunt for two armed robbery suspects in the state.
Bright Edafe, the police spokesperson in Delta, said in a statement on Tuesday in Warri that the suspects were among those terrorising Ekpan Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

He said the duo attacked a 48-year-old man in his residence with a locally-made gun on Friday at about 5:30 p.m.
Mr Edafe, a superintendent of police, said the incident was reported the same day at the Ekpan Division of the Nigeria Police.

The police spokesperson said the masked suspects broke into the victim’s house near Charlisco, on the NPA Express Road.
He said the victim courageously wrestled with the suspect holding the firearm, breaking the gun in the process.
Mr Edafe added that upon noticing this, the second suspect struck the victim on the forehead before both suspects fled, abandoning the broken firearm.

“Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Ekpan Division, immediately deployed operatives to the scene, where the damaged locally-made firearm was recovered.
“The victim was referred to a hospital for treatment, while a manhunt for the fleeing suspects is in top gear,” he said.
Mr Edafe quoted the Commissioner of Police in the state, Samuel Erale, as commending the victim for his courage, and assured that the command would track and apprehend the suspects.
The police commissioner also solicited useful information from the public to assist the police in preventing crimes before they are committed in the state.
