The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will send a 15-member delegation to Nigeria on Friday for a final inspection of facilities ahead of the 48th Ordinary General Assembly and the 2026 CAF Awards.
The inspection will assess preparations for the two events scheduled to hold in Abuja and Lagos in November and December, respectively.
The 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly is scheduled for 21 November at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, while the 2026 CAF Awards will take place on 7 December at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.
The delegation’s visit follows an initial inspection conducted from 31 July to 4 August, during which CAF officials met representatives of institutions and agencies involved in organising the events in both cities.

In Abuja, the team will assess the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Transcorp Hilton Hotel and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The delegation is also scheduled to pay courtesy visits to the chairman and director-general of the National Sports Commission.
A six-member team from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by its director of communications, Ademola Olajire, will accompany the CAF delegation during the inspections.
The visits are expected to provide a final opportunity to assess the readiness of the proposed venues and supporting facilities ahead of the continental football governing body’s annual assembly and awards ceremony.
